She was born in Toronto, Canada, in 2002.

Emma moved from Canada to the UK when she was

2 years old and holds both British and Canadian

citizenship, however she represents Britain and

identifies as being British. Emma's Father is

Romanian and her Mother is Chinese.

old and has competed at all levels.

Her break-out year was 2021, she reached the 4th

round at Wimbledon and won the US Open.

In winning the US Open, Emma broke several records

- she became the first qualifier to win a major in the

through, finding it difficult to string together

successive victories. Consequently her rankings have
